Randy Rinker #41
I grew up with
boating and boat racing in the Rinker family. I raced motocross for 10 years before coming back to boats in
1996. From there I started in the SST60 class. In 1999 I stepped up to the SST120/Formula 2. Consistency in my
racing has given me I was the 1996 SST60 series Rookie of the year and I gained numerous overall top 3
finishes in SST60 and SST120 series racing. 2005 was highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the UIM World
Championships SST120 class and a 3rd place finish at the APBA OPC National Championships in the SST120 class.
My wife Lisa has been at my side during all my boat racing as my crew chief, manager and radio communications.
She loves boat racing as much as I do and will always be by my side. In 2007 Terry and I plan on teaming up to
make a winning ChampBoat racing team.

Chip Yates to Race in AMA Daytona SportBike for
SWIGZ.COM
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
, February 2, 2009 -- Chip Yates (AMA #89) will contest his
first AMA pro season on a pair of SWIGZ.COM GSX-R600s with backing from major sponsors SWIGZ.COM and Dainese.
Yates’ 19-month rise from WERA club racing novice to licensed AMA professional road racer is notable in that he
had never raced a motorcycle of any kind prior to April, 2007 and didn’t regularly ride on the street.
Chip’s roadracing career began in 2007 when he purchased a 9-year-old GSX-R750 for $2,500 at his wife Julie’s
suggestion. Known in WERA and AFM circles as “the new guy with the old school GSX-R”, Yates finished
4th in the 2007 WERA West A-Superstock novice championship before the racebike was stolen along
with his tow vehicle, trailer and tools following the 2007 WERA Las Vegas round.
For his 2008 expert season, Yates hired crew chief Jimmy Summers and the two rebuilt the team from scratch to
campaign a 2007 GSX-R600 in WERA and AFM competition at tracks including Infineon Raceway, Miller Motorsports Park,
California Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Buttonwillow Raceway Park. Chip notched top 5 finishes and ended
the year 4th in the 2008 WERA West A-Superbike expert championship.
Chip Yates: “Obviously we’re on a steep learning curve and competing with the best riders in America on tracks
and tires that are new to us, but I feel like we’re at the right place at the right time to grow our program along
with the new direction of AMA Pro Road Racing.”
Jimmy Summers: “We are looking forward to a great year under the new AMA Daytona SportBike rules. I want to
thank Josh Hanrahan of Aim Sports LLC for supporting our recent California Speedway data acquisition system tests
on the GSX-R600, as well as our other equipment sponsors M4 Performance Exhaust, Woodcraft and Armour Bodies.”
